How do I prepare?
Come as you are! We don’t get lost in what people wear but we do encourage everyone to come with a heart prepared to worship God and feast on His Word. We encourage our church body to spend time in prayer before coming to church and use the time of worship to focus on the character of our awesome God.
Prayer and Worship
Through prayer and worship we align our hearts with God and enter into His presence, where we can best receive what His Spirit will reveal to us through the Bible lesson. Our services feature contemporary worship music as well as some more traditional hymns and songs.
The Word of God
We place great emphasis on teaching the Word of God. In the fashion of Calvary Chapel churches, we teach through the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. If you’re new to church or don’t have a Bible, don’t worry—we will gladly provide one for you to use and keep!
Families
We encourage families with children to participate in all aspects of church life. We have a designated area near the back to help with an easy exit if the little one needs some comforting. For families desiring their children to attend a class during the sermon, we offer Bible classes for ages 1 to 12. Other options for families include our Family Room, the Fellowship Hall, or our Mothers & Infants room. You can learn more about our Children's Ministry on our Ministries page.
Teens ages 13 and up stay with their families for the entire service. We believe it is important for teens to have the opportunity to worship with their family members and to study the Word of God with one another. If we expect teens to build their own relationships with Jesus as Savior and Lord, we need to give them the opportunity to hear the Word of God preached with their families that they can be discipled, learn how to be involved in a church family, and learn how to apply lessons learned from church to every day life. Pastor Vince usually provides a charge at the end of each message, which provides some useful scaffolding to discuss the sermon after service.
Similarly, we encourage teens to partake in men’s and women’s ministry so that the older generations of the church can pour into the younger and vice versa. In addition, we offer monthly youth specific meetings and various other youth events throughout the year. You can learn more about our Youth Ministry on our Ministries page.
What happens after service?
Following every Sunday service we provide coffee and snacks in the Fellowship Hall. This is a great time to get to know other people in the church and visit the Welcome Center to find out about upcoming activities. There are also prayer counsellors at the front of the sanctuary after every service to pray with you concerning any need, issue, or person that God has placed on your heart.
On the first Sunday of each month, we have "Acts 2:42 Sundays." After our normal service with communion, we then gather for a potluck lunch, followed by prayer. We encourage the entire family to join us for this special time.
Do y’all have church membership?
We believe that membership in the greater church happens when a person receives the free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore we welcome anyone within the Body of Christ to worship and serve with us for any length of time allowed by the leading of the Holy Spirit. We do not require a formal, covenant agreement between members and the church.
